My dilemma
by Saltheart Foamfollower ini have a bit of a dilemma that i would welcome advice on from the forum.. a brother in my congregation is giving evidence of having woken up - his comments and talks are usually slanted towards topics discussed here.
he is a former elder and is part of a group of other former elders and ministerial servants who i regularly overhear using terms i would expect to hear from ones knowing ttat.
he is a quite an effective teacher and will probably influence some.. however, in the past he has caused lots of problems for myself and others who i like (including another poster to this site who i have identified) and continues to be someone who i dislike intensely on a personal level.. his comments have been noticed by the body of elders and he is being watched.

At first I thought you were talking about me, until you brought up the DF son story. -

then we woke up and have actively been fading for 9 months.

Two Year Delay in Building New KHs - What Is the Real Impact?
by committeechairman inwhere are all these kingdom halls that were going to start being built?
the rbc arrangement was officially announced as an arrangement that was ending in the united states branch territory in a letter on january 24, 2014 (although this letter is no longer listed on jw.org).
this means that 23 months have passed since the announcement of the ldc taking over and "acceleration" of kingdom hall builds.. what has happened in the meantime with kh construction?

So many good points here!
Committee Chairman- I remember for some 20 years involved in the RBC, we had something going on every month, either a new build or re-model. Now nothing.
Siri82 - Most on every work Project (some 80 %) were Regular Pioneers be we(me and the wife) got to count our time on the project, many times 40 to 60 hours a month credit hours. I bet if these RBC Pioneers are still serving as Pioneers, they are struggling to get their real time in.
Also I recall that all 5 RBC Committee Members were Regular Pioneers. That was the ongoing joke; work on RBC projects, have some fun, count your time as a Pioneer and enjoy all the perks and recognition that goes with the title.
Bonus, Pioneer Elders were almost assured of getting Assembly and Convention Parts from using this status!!!

Bethels all downsizing within a year?
by Formerbrother inwhy is there a huge cull going on of all bethels around the world?.
about 80% cull within the next year?.
some have been in bethel for decades and will be sent packing, the 20% of bethelites who stay will have to do their own food, laundry and clean their flat.

Reasons for doubting.
by New day insomebody mentioned in a recent topic that they had a conversation with a former elder whose breaking point was when the overlapping generation was highlighted in recent times and how he would never serve again until somebody gave him a scriptural reason to believe it.
i am in a similar position.
i have gone in the last 18 months from taking the wt study, leading fs groups, and doing talks on the mtngs to doing almost nothing, as i resigned a little over a year ago as an elder due to a combination of family responsibilities and huge doubts.

Overlapping Generations in 2010 was a real eye opener for me and the wife.
What is kind a neat by not serving is that the friends without any titles have been more open to me and letting their hair down by frank and open speech. We cuss a little bit, drink more and have a really good times together!
Recently, I noticed a Single Sister in her 30's had gotten 2 tattoo's. I was the first to notice(she told me she got them 2 months earlier), I said "your secret is safe with me".
The Elders found out from her father, she was called to the back room for a meeting. I told her to tell them(yeah I prepped her what to say), "Tell them you are a little depressed being a single parent, but Jehovah knows I am doing all I can".

Leaving Quietly
I used to think that a lot of these Bethel Speakers were fantastic until I learned that. Now without the blinders on, they do sound ridiculous!

Are there any ex-missionaries here??
by fulano ini have been a missionary in the dominican republic for almost 10 years and i was wondering if there were any ex-missionaries on this forum.. i am back in my country now for 3 years and totally inactive.. what i noticed in those missionary-years was the lack of spiritual interest among the missionaries.. discussions were about rooms, cars and greater responsibilities, the bad territory.
and the local c.o.s and d.os.. was this only in the dr or are there other experiences??.
ere other experiences?

Sub CO and Wife, both Reg Pioneers, go back to NC to live with his Parents
by James Jack inthis couple both in their mid 30's, lived with me for awhile and i gave them employment, because they are both regular pioneers and married right out of high school, also because i am that kind a of guy that likes to help people.
various friends have been helping them out for years, so i guess it was my turn to help them out.. the brother got stupid with me, so i told him i had enough of them both and that it was time for them to go elsewhere.. the co loved them so much, the pioneer elder was made cobe in another congregation and a sub co. the brother also got to conduct pioneer service school.
(so he is a hot shot now).

This young couple just thought to much of themselves. They had no problem running over people.
Case in point. A young single Sister who had a baby(10 months old), just go baptized and the struggles of raising a young child was overwhelming her. A young "worldly" man to an active interest in her and she married him.
She was DF shortly there after. This couple bragged that they know she wasn't ready for baptism and that warned the Brothers bout it!
